UK Foreign Minister Lord Wood condemns so-called ‘elections’ in occupied South Ossetia

“Attempts to further entrench Russia’s control over Georgia’s occupied regions undermine Georgian sovereignty and Georgian territorial integrity and will not go unanswered,” UK Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Lord Wood declared in an official statement released by the British Embassy in Tbilisi.

Lord Wood underscored that the United Kingdom formally condemns the so-called elections conducted in occupied South Ossetia.

“Russia must meet its 2008 ceasefire obligations,” stated Lord Wood.
