U.S. Embassy welcomes Georgia-Russia meeting facilitated by Swiss side

U.S. Embassy to Tbilisi welcomes the Georgia and Russia meeting facilitated by Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We support Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and urge Russia to end its illegal occupation and decrease tensions” – the statement released by the Embassy on its social network reads.

On the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Switzerland, the meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov yesterday.
