Transparency to be important factor to increase public trust, General Prosecutor says
“Transparency of the system is an important factor to increase trust of the public towards the Prosecutor’s Office,” said Irakli Shotadze, Georgian General Prosecutor when presenting the 2021 annual report to the Prosecutorial Council.
Shotadze accentuated activities carried out for transparency strengthening mentioning regular news briefings among them, but underlined that disinformation dissemination facts also increased.
“This aims to discredit judiciary process and demotivate prosecutors, impede their work and attempts to interfere. However, all such efforts will be futile. We will continue our work with more motivation, do our best to carry out our activities as efficiently as possible and to provide complete and objective information to the society,” General Prosecutor claimed.
