Tender open for design and construction of new stadium in Tbilisi

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a tender for the design and construction of a new UEFA Category IV stadium in Tbilisi.

Designed to accommodate 70,000 spectators, the modern multifunctional arena will host football and rugby matches, concerts, and other local and international events, including the UEFA Champions League and other top-tier competitions.

“The stadium complex will also feature a community center with conference and exhibition halls, recreation areas, a museum, and retail spaces.

It will be built near the airport, adjacent to the Lugar Research Center. New transport hubs will be developed to ensure fast and convenient access from different parts of the city, providing comfortable passenger flow on event days.

The project concept is being developed in collaboration with UEFA experts, with international specialists involved at every stage — from preparing the tender specifications to the stadium’s final completion.

The facility will be fully adapted for people with special needs. Its construction and operation are expected to create new jobs and stimulate the local economy, boosting tourism, hospitality, catering, and other service sectors.

Once operational, the stadium will become one of Georgia’s most important venues for both sports and cultural events,” the Ministry of Infrastructure stated.
