Georgia’s national basketball team defeated Israel 101-90 in a friendly match at the Otar Korkia and Nodar Dzhordzhikia Sports Palace in Tbilisi.

Israel made a strong start and won the opening quarter by eight points. Georgia responded in the second 10-minute period, outscoring their opponents 26-16 to erase the deficit and take a 43-41 lead into halftime.

The third and fourth quarters remained closely contested, with neither team able to establish a decisive advantage. However, Georgia were more accurate in the final quarter and eventually secured a convincing 101-90 victory.

The game against Israel served as Georgia’s final warm-up ahead of their upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying matches.

The Georgian team will begin its qualifying campaign on August 28, when they host Montenegro in Tbilisi. On August 31, Georgia will travel to face Portugal. Both games will be broadcast live by the GPB First Channel.
