Mayor Kakha Kaladze affirmed that, during the renovation of outdated buildings, full consent from residents is mandatory, and this principle will remain unchanged.

Kaladze emphasised that property rights are protected by law, and the municipality will not forcibly evict anyone.

“The approach will not change, as the law defines property rights. We have no authority to forcibly evict residents or demolish their homes. We have heard speculation on this issue, and the cases included evicting people who had intruded into private property or dismantling houses built illegally on state-owned land plots. These are completely different cases. I reiterate that the municipality has neither the right nor the intention to remove residents from their homes forcibly,” Kaladze stated.
