Tbilisi Mayor -Tbilisi Land Use Master Plan responds to almost all challenges

The work on Tbilisi Land Use Master Plan has come to an end. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at a news conference on Wednesday that the document signed between Tbilisi City Hall and “City Institute” is ready to be sent to Sakrebulo (City Council).

“Today is an important day for Tbilisi Mayor as well as for entire Tbilisi. The works on Tbilisi Land Use Master Plan has come to an end. Tbilisi Municipality and the “City Institute” completed a basic working process and the document is ready to send to the City Council for further discussions,” Kakha Kaladze said.

According to him, the main line of the document – green, connected, compact and resistant city concept – was positively evaluated and fully shared by the City Hall from the very beginning.

“Zoning-related issues have been improved and complied with legislation; The map has been completed and the construction permits were placed on it, thematic maps have been created and the internal precinct greenery, linear structures were reflected in it, and the ways of solving property issues were maximally clarified taking the owners’ rights into consideration; Implementation of effective tools on restriction was provided for development of hazardous areas in terms of chaotic construction and geology (part of Zhvania street, Vere Gorge, nearby territories of Gldani lake and other areas),” Kaladze said.

He said that the proposed general plan includes the project of designing and construction of 4 new parks and 11 development framework plan (Lisi Lake, Dighomi, Tbilisi Sea, etc.). According to Kaladze, the project and research action plan was developed in the important directions such as urban development, protection of cultural heritage, transport system, environmental protection, economic development, infrastructural arrangement and other important directions for our city.
