Tbilisi Mayor seeks to rebuild U.S. relations from clean slate

“We are ready and optimistic about restarting relations with the U.S. from a clean slate. We do not seek to intimidate or confront anyone,” stated Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

Kaladze commented on the communication between the Georgian and U.S. Presidents, Mikheil Kavelashvili and Donald Trump.

“We do not intimidate or fight with anyone. How can we possibly quarrel with the U.S. or Europe? We want to move beyond the lies, falsehoods, threats, and slander that have marred our relations and begin anew from a clean slate. The Prime Minister and President have reiterated this stance many times. Therefore, we are ready and hopeful to restart relations with the U.S. from scratch.”

Summing up his visit to New York, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said, “I told the U.S. President that it’s time for our relations to begin afresh.”
