Tbilisi Mayor: Our goal is for Tbilisi streets to be full of life every day
Georgian Dream’s Tbilisi mayoral candidate and current mayor, Kakha Kaladze, met with residents of the Vake district today as part of his pre-election campaign. According to the party’s press service, Kaladze listened to citizens’ opinions and presented his vision for the city’s future development.
Addressing the gathered residents, Kaladze thanked them for their support and emphasized that over the next four years, the city government will continue implementing projects aimed at improving comfort and quality of life in the capital.
“Our goal is for the streets of Tbilisi to be full of life every day, with squares, parks, and sports fields filled with people. Through our ongoing and planned large-scale projects, we can achieve this. We will continue rehabilitating streets and avenues, and further improve public transport to ensure fast and accessible mobility for everyone,” Kaladze said.
He recalled the city’s progress in recent years, particularly in public transport.
“Over the past eight years, we have completely renewed the fleet of buses and minibuses. Do you remember how poor transport once was in Tbilisi, and the state of our streets? Of course, we haven’t managed to reach everywhere yet, but major development plans are ahead,” he noted.
Kaladze also underlined the importance of maintaining peace as a foundation for the city’s progress.
“‘Peace in Georgia, more goodness for Tbilisi’ is not just our election slogan. Every step we take serves the policy of preserving peace, because without peace, development is impossible. We serve the Georgian people, our statehood, sovereignty, and independence—freedom that our ancestors achieved through sacrifice, and which must be protected daily. Replacing one master with another is unacceptable. We need friends and partners, but no one should point fingers at us or demand actions that harm our country,” Kaladze said.
