Tbilisi Mayor: Municipality to provide maximum support to private owners affected by protest damage
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has stated that during the protest held on October 4, several infrastructures in the capital were damaged, clearly revealing to society the true nature of those on the other side.
In response to a relevant question, he affirmed that the municipality, within its powers, will offer maximum assistance to private owners whose infrastructure was damaged by the protest participants.
“They caused numerous problems in the capital. I believe that here too, society can see the difference; we are focused on building, creating, and restoring various monuments recognised as cultural heritage, while these radicals and violent individuals are destroying them. It is very distressing and upsetting. People value all these efforts. Of course, we will stand by everyone and provide support. They will receive maximum assistance from us,” said Kakha Kaladze.
The mayor also addressed a question regarding the controversy among rally organisers over collecting funds from immigrants to purchase equipment.
“I do not wish to interfere in internal disputes. If someone has stolen money, behaved improperly, or made certain statements, that is none of my concern. Once again, I thank the majority of our country’s population for their correct and constructive stance. It was precisely those 1,100,000 people who responded to the actions of those who seek to undermine our country,” concluded the Tbilisi mayor.
