Tbilisi Mayor: Let’s respect our culture and traditions and avoid insults despite political differences

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze commented on the protest rally held yesterday near the election headquarters, describing the incident as “shameful and sad.”

Kaladze condemned the insults directed at Georgian Dream member Beka Odisharia, stressing that such behaviour is unacceptable.

“A shameful and sad fact has happened. Looking at the faces of these people, if Michael Jackson were alive, he would have reshot Thriller with their involvement—without makeup, artists, or costumes. These are ordinary ‘titushki.’ This is not the first time. Yesterday, Beka was the target, before that, other ordinary citizens. These people have lost their morality and culture,” Kaladze said.

He emphasized that while citizens may hold different political views, mutual respect must remain.

“Regardless of political differences, we must rise above everything. Let’s respect our culture and traditions, and not insult each other, either physically or verbally,” stated the Mayor.
