Tbilisi Mayor accuses Baltic States of double standards in handling Russia
The Tbilisi Mayor responded to a journalistic investigation carried out by the Lithuanian National Television and Radio (LRT), which revealed that, despite sanctions, companies from the Baltic States are involved in reloading oil onto Russian “shadow” tankers.
Kakha Kaladze criticised this as a clear case of double standards, pointing out that while they call on Georgia to act differently in its dealings with Russia, they are engaging in the same practices themselves.
“This is a common double standard. What is unacceptable for us is permitted for them. This is not the first instance. We can review numerous statements from them regarding Georgia. All their assertions are filled with falsehoods. Whatever they demand of us, they themselves are doing. It is obvious that everyone acts in accordance with their own interests. They pursue policies that benefit their own countries. Likewise, we follow a course that is primarily vital for our nation and its future,” Kakha Kaladze stated.
