Tbilisi City Hall imposes traffic restrictions in connection with Family Sanctity Day

A procession will be held on May 17, the Day of Family Sanctity, from Rustaveli Avenue toward the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral. The Tbilisi City Hall imposed traffic restrictions on certain streets due to the procession, which will start from the Kashueti Church at 11 a.m.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., movement will be banned on Gia Chanturia Street, Rustaveli Avenue, Freedom Square, Baratashvili Bridge, Baratashvili Ascend and Avlabari Square. Traffic will be redirected to the adjacent streets.

“Vehicles moving toward Rustaveli metro station to Freedom Square will be able to drive along Rustaveli Avenue until the intersection with Chanturia Street, from where they will turn left and connect to the right bank of the Mtkvari River via Chanturia and Soliko Virsaladze Streets.

During the restriction period, traffic movement will also be banned on Lesya Ukrainka, Jorjadze, Chichinadze, April 9, Purtseladze and Lado Gudiashvili Streets,” the City Hall said.
