Tamar Khulordava – We do not have violations about visa-free regime to be alarming

“We do not have such violations about visa-free regime with European Union to cause alarm,” Tamar Khulordava, Chairwoman of the Georgian Parliamentary Committee for European Integration stated.

1tv.ge interviewed Khulordava on the occasion of the first anniversary after activation of visa-free travel regime with EU and Schengen zone countries.

According to Khulordava, more than 190 thousand Georgian citizens took use of the visa-free regime after March 28, 2017. There were 600 cases when Georgian citizens were not admitted onto the territory of European countries. There is no exact number of those, who did not return to Georgia.

1tv.ge asked Khulordava about the report prepared European Asylum Support Office (EASO) based on which the number of asylum seekers from Georgia increased by 35%.

Khulordava said that the statistics was considerable but not alarming. The question was also asked about returned citizens of Georgia with means of readmission.
