Tamar Chugoshvili: CoE decision was the greatest victory for our country not mitigating the strict attitude towards Russia
“For the period I represent the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia, the PACE decision was the greatest victory not mitigating the strict attitude towards Russia – the country occupying our territories and violating various obligations for years imposed by CoE”, – the First Vice Speaker, Tamar Chugoshvili noted.
This decision made by CoE was the greatest victory for the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia, as well as the delegations of other countries lobbying the same topics, for instant Ukraine and Great Britain.
“The Resolution was as well crucial concerning necessity of monitoring of human rights in the grey zones – occupied territories in our case and admission of the monitors to the territory. During the session, we have held the meetings with the observers arriving from PACE to observe the Presidential Elections and with the Monitoring Committee members and rapporteurs monitoring the processes in Georgia. Ultimately, the session was very productive. We have achieved a lot during the week, which was hard to achieve and I believe that it will only enhance the position of our country in CoE”.
