Strong Georgia’s Elisashvili: I respect Khabeishvili, but let them succeed on their path whilst we succeed on ours
“Levan Khabeishvili is a very brave lad, energetic and determined. I respect him, but sociological research has its own methodology, so let them succeed on their path whilst we succeed on ours,” declared Aleko Elisashvili, a member of Strong Georgia.
When asked by a journalist how he assesses Levan Khabeishvili’s social media poll regarding the October 4 rally, Elisashvili noted that every survey has its own methodology.
Additionally, according to Aleko Elisashvili, Strong Georgia will not participate in the October 4 rally, as they see their path through electoral participation.
“Levan is a very brave lad, I have enormous respect for him, very energetic, determined, a fighter, fearless, which I greatly value in people. However, sociological research has its own methodology, and methodology is very important. So let them succeed on their path, whilst we succeed on ours. Both paths should rightfully converge, and this will be their defeat,” Elisashvili declared.
As Elisashvili noted, he has no political ambitions, and it does not matter to him whether he becomes a mayoral candidate.
“Consultations are ongoing, the maximum deadline is September 4, when we can announce names. However, agreements on mayoral candidates and majoritarian candidates both in Tbilisi and other regions are being negotiated with Gakharia’s political team. This is a very proper, healthy process. I’m very pleased with this process. Finally, in Georgian political history, two strong political groups are trying to act in coordination. Rather than hurling abuse at each other, they’re coordinating for a common cause, a common goal, and very soon it will become clear who our candidate might be. Whether or not I become a mayoral candidate is absolutely immaterial to me. I have no political ambitions whatsoever except defeating these miscreants. Wherever needed, there I shall be,” Elisashvili declared.
When discussing the opposition’s chances, Aleko Elisashvili noted that if the rest of the opposition stops hurling abuse, these chances will increase even further.
“We have chances. If the remaining opposition stops abusing us and properly grasps reality, these chances will increase even further. However, we respect their position. We approach their attitude towards us with respect, even though what we receive from them is hardly respectful. Nevertheless, I know that we are driven by a common goal, defeating them [Georgian Dream]. Simply, we view it differently. We have chances and we must defeat them in Tbilisi, we must reclaim Tbilisi,” Elisashvili declared.
