Streets in Tbilisi, Batumi and Zugdidi, adorned with photos of Ilia II and his message “I Love You, Georgia”

In honour of the late Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, photographs of Ilia II are displayed along the streets of Tbilisi, bearing the inscription “I Love You, Georgia.” Similar displays with the same message have also been placed in Zugdidi and Batumi.

Yesterday, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, was laid to rest in the Sioni Cathedral. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered to pay their respects on his final journey. The Patriarch passed away on March 17 at the age of 93.
