Strategy Aghmashenebeli's Vashadze: May 26 should be unifying day; we aim at European integration, sovereignty
“May 26 should truly be a day of unity. Moving towards this unity is our primary objective. We are striving for integration with the European Union, building a strong and independent state,” declared Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.
He criticised the path of the Georgian Dream government, accusing it of prioritising personal gain and the seizure of power.
“We are all actively involved in organising the May 26 commemoration. Alongside Salome Zourabichvili, we met with various civil society groups and activists. We are united in this effort. It is shameful that a political group, which spreads slander, opposes, and incites political crises within the country, claims to represent the nation. May 26 should be a day of unity, and fostering this unity is our main goal.
Our core focus is Georgia’s accession to the European Union. We are moving forward together—building a strong, sovereign state. The European Union is the true guarantor of our independence, and we are rapidly progressing toward development.
In contrast, the Georgian Dream seeks personal enrichment for a select elite, the seizure of power, and the displacement of ordinary Georgians from their homeland. Their path is leading Georgia away from its people and its sovereignty. Our path is different: it is Georgia united with the European Union, supported by a strong America, embracing returned emigrants, and fostering national strength,” Vashadze emphasised.
