State Minister's Office to allocate additional resources for public diplomacy, dialogue, and confidence-building initiatives
“The policy of reconciliation and engagement is an integral part of a broader strategy for peaceful conflict resolution,” stated Tea Akhvlediani, the acting State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality re-nominated for this role.
Akhvlediani elaborated on her plans while presenting a report formatted as a confidence vote during the expanded meeting of the Law Affairs, Human Rights and Civic Integration, Defense and Security, and Procedural Affairs and Rules committees.
According to Akhvlediani, the State Minister’s Office intends to allocate additional financial resources to enhance public diplomacy, facilitate dialogue, and support confidence-building initiatives.
“Caring for the populations residing in the occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, who are under pressure from occupation, remains a top priority,” she emphasized.
Akhvlediani also announced the launch of a new portal featuring information in both Abkhazian and Ossetian languages. This platform will enable residents of the occupied regions to access valuable information about various state programs designed to improve healthcare and education, as well as promote social and economic activities.
“I am convinced that peace and development are essential, non-negotiable pathways to overcoming challenges for the Abkhaz and Ossetian members of our society,” she concluded.
