SSSG: Georgian citizen illegally detained on April 2 is now freed and in central government-controlled territory
“A Georgian citizen unlawfully detained on April 2 this year has been released and is now within the territory controlled by the central government. This information has been confirmed by the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG).
According to the agency, in the process of securing the release of this Georgian citizen from unlawful detention, both the “hotline” mechanism operating with the direct involvement of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) and all other relevant tools at the disposal of the central government were actively employed.
“The government, through the State Security Service, continues to work tirelessly to secure the release of all Georgian citizens unlawfully detained in the occupied territories,” the SSSG stated in their announcement.
