Special flight arrived in Georgia from Italy

156 Georgian citizens have arrived in Georgia from Italy by charter flight. Two planes brought Georgian citizens back home from Rome.

Passengers underwent medical examinations when boarding the plane but none of them showed coronavirus symptoms.

Nevertheless, they will be subjected to a 14-day compulsory quarantine after having been thoroughly examined medically in Georgia.

“We fully followed the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control to ensure their safe transportation. The planes were accompanied by medical staff in order to conduct medical examinations before boarding. The health condition of citizens is satisfactory, good. They show no coronavirus symptoms, but upon their arrival, they will be subject to a thorough repeated medical check-up and will thereafter undergo a 14 day-long mandatory quarantine ”, –  Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia said.

The Georgian citizens have been brought to Georgia with the help of the Georgian government.

Italy has been placed on ‘red zone’ quarantine and all public events have been banned in the country due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus.
