Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili echoed the statement released by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Sweden.

The Speaker wrote on Facebook that “condemning anything” by the Swedish Foreign Ministry would be “insincere and unserious” until it denounced the statement made by Eric Ottoson, one of the leaders of Swedish authorities and the Chairman of the Swedish Parliament’s Committee on European Union Affairs, on November 11, 2024.

“Until the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden denounces the November 11, 2024, statement by its government member, Eric Ottoson, calling for the overthrow of the Georgian government, condemning anything in Georgia on the part of the Swedish Foreign Ministry would be insincere and not serious,” he said.

The Swedish Foreign Affairs Ministry condemned Georgia’s disinformation against the EU and its Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.

“We condemn Georgia’s disinformation against the EU and its ambassador in Tbilisi,” reads the statement of the Swedish Foreign Affairs Ministry posted on the X Platform.
