Speaker: UNM's dictatorship is over, but UNMism as liberal-fascist ideology still requires defeat

“Thirteen years ago, on this very day, the Georgian people defeated a government that fought against and despised everything Georgian, defeated a puppet regime that sacrificed Georgia as a pawn for others’ geopolitical and other interests,” declared Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

According to him, Bidzina Ivanishvili was able, through his strong will, to stand up against the dictatorship established by the United National Movement.

“Thirteen years ago, the United National Movement (UNM) as a government was defeated. However, UNMism, as the Georgian office of liberal-fascist ideology, still remains to be defeated.

We see how this liberal-fascist ideology operates. This is a challenge for the entire world today. We see the bearers of this same ideology in the USA, who sow hatred, and how difficult their defeat is. This is an ideology that entails waving others’ flags, putting down one’s own country elsewhere, sowing hatred, and this ideology still requires defeat.

On October 4, amongst other things, the Georgian people will have yet another opportunity to give their firm answer to UNMism as an ideology that entails advancing the interests of others, of other countries or other external forces.

Therefore, our 13 years of experience also demonstrates that even though the UNM as a government has been defeated, the ideology is fed from outside, and this ideology still requires defeat,” Papuashvili declared.

The statement from Bidzina Ivanishvili, Honorary Chairman of Georgian Dream, reads: “On October 4, we have the opportunity to demonstrate once again that our struggle today is about going to the polling stations, making a free choice, and safeguarding peace and stability.”
