Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met the Speaker of the Lower House in Malaysia, Johari Abdul.

The sides expressed readiness to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation in trade, economy, tourism and education. They touched on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Johari Abdul expressed hope that the Georgian parliamentary delegation would participate in the ASEAN General Assembly planned in Malaysia in September.

Shalva Papuashvili congratulated Malaysia on assuming ASEAN’s chairmanship and wished it success.

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference in Geneva. Within the framework of the visit, they held high-level meetings with parliament presidents from different countries.
