Speaker: Georgian people not to be defeated

“Georgian people will not be defeated as long as they carry our homeland, language, and faith in their hearts and stay solid as a rock in defending our independence,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

The Speaker extended his gratitude to the Georgian people.

“I congratulate everyone on this victory. We all won together since the Georgian people, once again, stood as a rock. These are moments when our history is created, and the history of independent Georgia, which was once again written today. Despite pressure, attempts to influence minds, information attacks from inside or outside the country, the Georgian people stood solid as a rock, not allowing anyone to go beyond the sovereignty boundary set by ancestors.

My gratitude to each Georgian who went to the elections, voted, and participated in a democratic process, which is called the transfer of mandate to the chosen ones. I would like to congratulate Kakha Kaladze. It is a significant accomplishment, an outstanding outcome which we demonstrated in Tbilisi and the entire Georgia.

I would like to congratulate the other 63 mayors. I know the efforts, support behind this victory and this is our joint victory, which we gained together with the people. Of course, Bidzina Ivanishvili is the spirit of this victory and the idea. This solid rock needs fortification and the key individual, who unites and strengthens us, is Bidzina Ivanishvili.

Thank you for the great victories that the Georgian people witnessed in the past few elections. Georgian people will not be defeated as long as they carry our homeland, language, and faith in their hearts and stay solid as a rock in defending our independence,” he said.
