Speaker: Cases of UNM's Khabeishvili and Kuprava confirm integrity of investigative commission’s findings

“The United National Movement, as the organisation and ideology, represents an adversary of the democratic state,” wrote Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Facebook.

According to the Speaker, UNM was the adversary when in the government and will remain an adversary in the opposition.

“The cases of Khabeishvili and Kuprava are additional proof of the integrity of the parliamentary investigation commission’s findings. The United National Movement, whether in power or opposition, continues to oppose democratic principles,” Papuashvili stated.

The State Security Service has detained Zviad Kuprava, a deputy of the Tbilisi Sakrebulo from the United National Movement. According to the SSSG, his detention relates to a video message he issued concerning election disruptions.
