Slovak President: Georgia plays key role in South Caucasus stability, has strategic position, no one can miss or bypass it
“We welcome the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Georgia plays a crucial role in the stabilisation of this region,” declared the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, during a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Kavelashvili.
According to the Slovak President, Georgia holds a significant position within the region.
“We discussed the situation in the South Caucasus. We endorse the peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. Georgia is central to the stabilisation process in this area. Slovakia is actively involved in the European initiative ‘Global Gateway’, and we are keen to develop infrastructure. Georgia’s strategic position along the route between Asia and Europe, both in terms of transport and energy imports, is vital. No one can ignore Georgia’s importance or bypass it. Consequently, we maintain excellent relations with Georgia, recognising its potential to play a pivotal role in this context,” the Slovak President stated.
