Situation in Pankisi Gorge calmed down, part of protesters to hold negotiations in Telavi
Part of the participants of the protest rally in Pankisi Gorge went to Telavi Police Station where the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kakha Sabanadze invited them to negotiate.
According to the journalist of Georgian First Channel, currently, the situation in Pankisi Gorge calmed down. Representatives of the special task force remain in the site as well as participants of the rally. HPP construction works have been suspended.
Locals clashed with police when protesting against the construction of the Hydro Power Plant Khadori. The protesters began throwing stones at the Special Forces officers, after which the law enforcers used tear gas.
