Shalva Papuashvili: Parliamentary commission to deliver comprehensive report on price formation in Georgia and possible revision

According to the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the parliamentary commission investigating price formation is nearing the conclusion of its work and will soon publish a thorough, detailed report.

Papuashvili explained that the commission’s primary aim was to examine the structure of price formation in Georgia and to identify potential areas for improvement.

“The task of the commission was to study how prices are formed and to determine if there are any artificial links or barriers within the price chain that may require different regulation, whether these issues are objective or subjective. The commission will provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of price formation in Georgia and suggest possible improvements. The main goal is to answer the crucial question about prices. Ultimately, we need a well-informed opinion on whether there is an objective basis for the prices or if something artificial is influencing them,” Shalva Papuashvili stated.
