Several people detained at Governmental Administration

Several people were detained at Governmental Administration where two rallies are ongoing in parallel. Reportedly the detainees are participants of the counter-rally of Tbilisi Pride.

Levan Vasadze, businessman, Guram Palavandishvili, actor, and church persons arrived at Governmental Administration after Tbilisi Pride had planned the rally through the social network following the statement released by the Patriarchate of Georgia in which it appealed to the authorities to prevent the organization of the event.

The police crews are mobilized at Governmental Administration. The situation periodically turns to the tense on the territory.

Tbilisi Pride was initially scheduled to take place 18 – 23 June in Tbilisi, the first event of its kind to take place in Georgia.
