Season 8, Episode 4 of Netflix's documentary Somebody Feed Phil to feature Georgia, Georgian Wine
Season 8, Episode 4 of Somebody Feed Phil, an American travel documentary television series presented by Philip Rosenthal and NETFLIX, an American streaming media company, will feature Georgia and Georgian wine.
NETFLIX will premiere the new season on June 18.
With co-financing from the Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture and the National Wine Agency, the filming crew visited Georgia in the fall of 2024. The team toured Tbilisi and the eastern Kakheti region for shooting.
The National Wine Agency conducts an active advertising campaign in the US to boost the popularity of Georgian wine. As part of the media campaign, one of the most popular wine shows in the US – V is for Vino- is also preparing a comprehensive story about Georgian wine.
The United States remains one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. Since 2013, targeted marketing activities supported by the National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to the increasing popularity of Georgian wines across the U.S.
The National Wine Agency has conducted marketing campaigns with the engagement of leading media outlets such as CBX, CNN, The New York Times, Wine Enthusiast, etc., to boost sales.
In 2024, exports reached 1.2 million litres – an increase of 32% compared to 2023.
To increase awareness and promote Georgian wine in the strategically important U.S. market, the National Wine Agency signed an agreement with the American marketing firm Colangelo & Partners. As part of the campaign, tasting seminars will be held in various U.S. cities for wine professionals and trade representatives.
Georgian wine will also be showcased at international exhibitions, supported by targeted advertising and media campaigns. Additionally, wine tours to Georgia will be organized for media, sommeliers, and sales representatives to deepen their understanding and promote Georgian wine in the U.S. market.
