Mikheil Saakashvili: I don’t understand anger of those ‘oppositionists’ who called Salome Zourabichvili Georgia’s savior

“It is incomprehensible to me that those ‘oppositionists’ who, just a short time ago, were calling this true enemy of Georgia the unconditional leader and savior of the Georgian people are now behaving this way,” former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on a social network.

According to Saakashvili, the Hague court proved that the Georgian side did not violate the laws of war during the Russia-Georgian War.

“The utter nonsense of my oldest friend, Gia Baramidze, was truly unpleasant for everyone, and Gia deserves a more detailed explanation to those people who were sincerely offended. However, in addition to the regime’s initiation of a criminal PR campaign over the statement, which was recalled 10 days later in an attempt to cover up our successful congress, there is also the excitement of those ‘oppositionists’ who, just a short while ago, were calling this shameful woman, the true enemy of Georgia, the unconditional leader and savior of the Georgian people, and were showering her with praise and glory.

He accompanied his statement with a banner featuring former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili and the caption: “We bombed our own population… How can we say that we want integrity?”
