On the anniversary of the Battle of Shindisi, the Embassy of France pays tribute to the Georgian soldiers who fell heroically in battle on August 11, 2008, reads the statement published on social media by the French Embassy in Georgia.

As stated in the announcement, France reaffirms its unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.

“On the anniversary of the Battle of Shindisi, the Embassy of France pays tribute to the Georgian soldiers who fell heroically in the battle of August 11, 2008. Their courage and self-sacrifice remain a symbol of the Georgian people’s dedication to independence in the face of Russian occupying forces.
