Rustavi City Assembly Chair dismissed

Members of the Rustavi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) dismissed Chairman Nodar Sherozia from the For Georgia party. Eighteen members voted for his resignation at Wednesday’s session.

The Faction of the Georgian Dream (GD) party appealed to the Chairman to appoint an extraordinary meeting to discuss the resignation of Rustavi Sakrebulo chairman and chairpersons of commissions.

The GD said that the staff of Rustavi Municipality’s seventh convocation Sakrebulo had not fulfilled its duties effectively for two years, noting the attempts to sabotage budget approval, hinder various projects and disregard the population’s viewpoints.

Nodar Sherozia, a member of the For Georgia party, was elected as Chairman of the Rustavi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) in 2022.
