Ruling, opposition parties hold meeting
Representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) and opposition parties are holding a closed-door meeting in the office of the Parliament Speaker.
The topic for discussion is the draft bill approved with the first hearing that allows participation in the 2024 parliamentary elections with old ID cards.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze and MPs Givi Mikanadze and Mamuka Mdinaradze represent the parliamentary majority, while the opposition is represented by MPs Khatuna Samnidze, Mikheil Daushvili, Tina Bokuchava, Roman Gotsiridze, Iago Khvichia and Nato Chkheidze. The meeting initiator, Fridon Injia, is not attending.
