Georgian Prosecutor’s Office charged one individual with premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances in the Sagarejo Municipality.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) revealed that the accused decided to kill three brothers out of revenge for a past conflict.

“On November 5 of this year, in the village of Lambalo, Sagarejo Municipality, the accused shot the brothers several times using illegally purchased military-grade ammunition from a registered firearm, two of whom died at the scene from gunshot wounds, while the third brother was hit by bullets. The shooting from the weapon endangered the life and health of a citizen who was with the brothers. The accused fled the scene, but law enforcement officers soon arrested him.

The detainee was charged under Articles 19-109, Subparagraphs “b” and “l” and Article 109, Subparagraphs “b” and “l” (attempted murder of more than two persons and murder of two persons by means that intentionally endanger the life or health of another person) and Parts 3 and 4 of Article 236 (illegal acquisition, storage, carrying of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to twenty years or life imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.

The Prosecutor’s Office has already petitioned the court to use imprisonment as a preventive measure for the accused,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
