Road Department extends Rikoti Pass driving through hours for light vehicles

The Road Department has announced changes to the special traffic regime at Rikoti Pass, which will come into effect from June 17.

According to the new regulations, the driving through for light and passenger vehicles on the Rikoti Pass road (from Surami junction to Zestafoni) will extend by three hours. From June 17, light and passenger vehicles will be permitted to travel from 6 AM to 9 PM.

Additionally, trailer and semi-trailer vehicles will have access in both directions from 11 PM to 5 AM.

“The Road Department will continue implementing 24-hour monitoring at the Rikoti Pass section to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow. The light vehicle traffic remains unrestricted on the Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura Zestafoni highway, allowing vehicles to travel freely at any time of the day or night,” Department stated.

The special traffic regime was initially introduced in April.
