Roads Department removes traffic restrictions on Rikoti Pass

Movement for light vehicles and passenger transport through the Rikoti Pass (connecting east and west Georgia) is now allowed round the clock starting October 12, the Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported.

The Roads Department informed that decreasing traffic intensity allowed the completion of slope fortification works.

The traffic restrictions stand in the case of trucks and semi-trailers, but the allowed passage period increased by 4 hours. The traffic in both directions is allowed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The Roads Department keeps monitoring the situation on the ground. The special regime of movement at the Rikoti Pass was enforced in April.
