Sinopharm jabs booking kicks off

Registration for the Chinese Covid-19 Sinopharm jabs will begin on Tuesday. The immunization process will kick off on May 4. Sinopharm is the third available Covid-19 vaccine for the Georgian population after AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

“Vaccination pace is low in Georgia. We want our population to have more options. The Chinese vaccine meets efficiency and safety expectations and recommendations,” said Ivane Chkhaidze, Head of the National Immunization’s technical advisors group.

The Immunization Council will determine the target age group for Sinopharm jabs on Tuesday. Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), urged for the acceleration of vaccination pace on April 26.
