Protesters stir up the polarization process, Parliament Speaker says

“The opinion of the European Commission on Georgia, which differed from Ukraine and Moldova, concerns polarization. EC calls to reduce polarization in the country,” Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Monday.

As Speaker noted, depolarization is the only issue the government cannot deal with without the opposition.

“The first conclusion that part of the opposition drew from the recommendations was to deepen the polarization instead of depolarization. The direct call of today’s rally is to change the government. Unfortunately, the media and part of the civil sector are part of this polarization. Today’s rally participants are doing the exact opposite, stirring up the process,” Papuashvili said.

“Now we have a European perspective, which is an important development because we are entering a new stage,” noted Parliament Speaker when assessing the EC recommendations.
