Prosecutor's Office files charges against individual for assault and vandalism on police vehicle [Video]

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has formally charged an individual with acts of violence and an attack on a police vehicle.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that on the evening of October 22, 2025, on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, near the Georgian Parliament, the accused assaulted a taxi driver by striking him in the face, resulting in injuries to the victim.

Furthermore, the individual also attacked a patrol police vehicle operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs while attempting to maintain public order. She climbed onto the roof of the car and deliberately damaged it by kicking, causing damage estimated at GEL 3,300.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect on the same day. She has been charged under Article 126, Part 1 (causing physical pain through violence) and Article 353, Part 1 (attack on a police officer’s vehicle in connection with the officer’s official duties) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. These offences carry a potential prison sentence of four to seven years, the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office stated.

The prosecution also announced that a petition for the accused’s remand in custody will be submitted to the Tbilisi City Court within the statutory timeframe.
