Produce in Georgia agency expands support for entrepreneurs

The Produce in Georgia programme of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development is evolving to broaden support for entrepreneurs. The Ministry has announced key updates.

According to the Ministry of Economy, changes to the universal industrial component include a two-percentage-point increase in co-financing for loans and leasing interest, effective from September 1.

Additionally, beneficiaries can now access new grant components in high-mountain, agro-tourism, green initiatives, digitalisation, and R&D. The grant amounts for women entrepreneurs have also been increased across these categories.

The State Programme for Micro-Entrepreneurship support has been expanded to include new activities such as food production, specialised construction, and cultivation of various annual crops, the Ministry stated.
