The parliamentary Procedural Issues and Rules Committee backed termination of MP mandates to 49 opposition politicians on Thursday.
Chairman Irakli Kadagishvili said the Committee confirmed the authenticity of the applications submitted by several opposition party members.
Procedural Issues and Rules Committee backed termination of authority to Shalva Natelashvili, Labor Party leader, and Levan Khabeishvili, United National Movement (UNM), on January 27.
Georgian Parliament will vote on termination of opposition MPs’ authority on February 2.
Most of the opposition parties that secured their seats at the Parliament of 10th Convocation believe the elections were a fraud. They renounced the mandates and demand snap elections.
