Procedural Affairs Committee Chair: Georgia's national interests - Peace, Unification, Prosperity
“Georgia’s national interests are peace, unification, economic progress and prosperity. No matter what lies they tell, they cannot make society reject this,” said Davit Matikashvili, Chair of the parliamentary Procedural Affairs Committee.
Matikashvili was asked to comment on the September 13 rally announced by 8 opposition parties.
“They wish to radicalize developments in Georgia, mobilize local radicals, so-called non-government organizations and instruct them to lead processes against Georgia’s interests. Neither the organizers of local radicals nor those giving instructions from abroad learned that their plan was doomed to fail; they cannot deceive the Georgian people.
No matter what lies they tell or apply to schemes or fabrications, be it the IRI head or someone else, they cannot make society undermine national interests. Georgia’s national interests are peace, unification, economic progress and prosperity.
Therefore, be it September 13 or any other date, their plans will fail and they will face a fiasco. The Georgian people are aware of an orchestrated conspiracy against Georgia. Regrettably, this is ruled from abroad and is supported by the Fifth Column, contemporary ‘Orjonikidzes’ of whom the radical opposition is abundant with,” he said.
