Prime Minister offered his condolences to Archil Tatunashvili's family
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has visited the house of Archil Tatunashvili in the village of Tsilkani and offered his condolences to the family.
In Tsilkani the Prime Minister was accompanied by Vice-prime Minister Mikheil Janelidze, Head of State Security Service Vakhtang Gomelauri, Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.
Archil Tatunashvili will be buried at the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery on March 24.
Archil Tatunashvili’s body was handed over to the Georgian side at Ergneti checkpoint on March 20, almost a month later. The examination of Tatunashvili’s body was conducted on March 20-21 at Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau. According to statement released by the Center EMPATHY, which was involved in the examination, there are multiple injuries on Tatunashvili’s body, indicating the trace of torture.
On February 22, 2018, representatives of the occupied Tskhinvali region illegally detained the citizens of Georgia: Archil Tatunashvili, Levan Kutashvili and Ioseb Pavliashvili. Tatunashvili died in uncertain circumstances on February 23.
