President Zourabichvili: I will be happy and proud If I be your presidential candidate

During a meeting with youths, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili expressed her commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the Georgian Charter and advancing Georgia’s negotiations with the European Union.

Zourabichvili remarked, “I will be where it is necessary to get this thing done, which involves first winning the election, then implementing the Charter in a short period of time. I want to be the person who defends this result, takes it to Brussels, and gets confirmation on opening the negotiations.”

When asked about her potential participation in the next presidential elections, Zourabichvili responded that her decision would be based on achieving consensus. “If I take part in the next elections, it will be based on a consensus, whether it will be the consensus of parties that sign the Georgian Charter or a consensus expressed in some form in society.”

She reiterated her commitment to the process, stating, “I’ll be where I’m needed, wherever I’m needed, to get this thing done. And for me, finishing this means first winning the elections and then implementing this charter in a very short time. Although someone may say that it takes a long time, it should not. I want to be the person who defends this result, takes it to Brussels, and gets confirmation on opening the negotiations. Whether it will be in the role of president or in some other role, the future will tell. If I be your presidential candidate, I will be very happy and proud.”
