President views holding Russia's presidential elections in Georgia's occupied regions as unacceptable, unlawful

“Holding Russia’s presidential elections in Georgia’s occupied regions is totally unacceptable and unlawful,” said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.

President Zourabichvili said she would apply to the international community for an adequate reaction to the unlawful moves undermining Georgia’s sovereignty.

“Holding Russia’s presidential elections in Georgia’s occupied regions is totally unacceptable and unlawful. This once again grossly undermines Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and contradicts international norms. Today, when Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions remain occupied, I apply the international community to adequately react on the unlawful moves undermining Georgia’s sovereignty,” she said.

According to the President’s Administration, Salome Zourabichvili raised this issue and condemned it at the meeting with NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace.
