President: Shuamtoba sets a small example of passing on traditions, values, love to future generations

“Shuamtoba sets a small example of how Georgia should be and how traditions, values and love should be passed on to the future generation,” said President Mikheil Kavelashvili, addressing attendees of Shuamtoba 2025 public celebration in Adjara region.

The president said he was honored to participate in the celebration of Shuamtoba, which has been preserved for centuries by locals of the Upper Adjara region and represents the unity of “mountain and valley.”

“Besides elderly people, I see many youngsters here, and this is a continuation of the tradition. This means that Georgia will never collapse. Shuamtoba sets a small example of how Georgia should be and how traditions, values, love and joy should be passed on to the future generation. This merging is represented here, and I am glad that I am here with you.

This is a valuable celebration. I would like that we, the government and I as the President, did our best for this joy to be passed on to the entire Georgia. It is our duty to preserve such celebrations for future generations, for them to know where we come from, what being a Georgian, traditions, and hospitality mean. Our respectful ancestors are for that, those who brought this love to the present and that should be contagious for each of us.

Congratulations once again, let Upper Adjara and Georgia be successful, let Georgia be victorious,” Kavelashvili concluded.
