There are signs that our partners do not only talk about other conflicts, not only about Ukraine, and Georgia is returning to the agenda – President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili told journalists when evaluating the sitting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

President said that many bilateral meetings were held within the framework of UNGA in New York, and occupation and conflicts were the main topics for discussions on part of the members of the Georgian delegation.

“Our everyday pain should be well understood by our partners and the efforts to reach the resolution of these conflicts should not be ceased,” President said.

Zurabishvili claimed that the main purpose was to achieve to expand the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) to Georgia to encompass the whole territory of the occupied regions and to return the format of Geneva International Discussions to the initial format which was of political character rather than of being merely technical.

According to President, the second important topic was Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and Georgia’s request to its international partners to become more involved into the process to make a political decision so much anticipated by Georgia.
