Russia tries to tame Georgia with everyday provocations. It plays on our nerves – Georgia’s President Salome Zurabishvili said within the framework of her visit to France during the speech delivered at the Forum of MEDEF International.

President said that nothing had changed Georgia’s goal to return to Europe and explained that Russian economic sanctions and August 2008 Russia-Georgia war served as the attempt to force Georgia to change its pro-western course.

“Russia tries to put us in boundaries through which Georgia will lose its three achievements: stability, democracy and European choice. However, it will not succeed. Our aspiration is strong and can be explained with our roots. Being European is in our blood,” Zurabishvili said.

President of Georgia said that Georgia was the country of 5 million Europeans and it had to return to the big European family.
